Upholstered in a boldly patterned jacquard weave, this cushion is a collaboration with lifestyle brand Viso Project. The fabric was woven by hand looms in North Carolina and sewn to fit the Stacking Bench at 49" L x 14" W x 2" D. The cover is removable and hand-washable.  Cushion filler is a high-density foam.

Stack and build

Configured as a low console here, STACKED can grow to a unit of 2, 3, 4 or even 5. The design was inspired by the mobile, sturdy and versatile 19th-century campaign furniture made for travel and expeditions.

Leather details

These artisan made belts aren't just a decorative detail. They strap the units into place or keep an optional cushion fastened. Ours were crafted in Braga, Portugal.

Sizing

A generous 48" length makes this comfortable seating for two. An optional cushion adds 2" of height. 

MEET THE DESIGNER

Shawn Maximo

Shawn Maximo (1975, Canada) is an artist and architect working in sculpture, digital media, and design. His work has been exhibited at the Vitra Design Museum, Swiss Institute, Kunsthalle Wien, Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Perez Art Museum Miami, and the 9th Berlin Biennale.

STACKED was inspired by 19th century Campaign furniture designed for travel and expeditions and celebrated for its mobility.
